Butler Marine Dry Stack

Project Description

This project involved the design of a pre-engineered metal building for boat and trailer storage. The structure required a heavy-duty slab design to support boat loads. The building features a concrete foundation and steel framework to provide the durability needed for the long-term storage of marine equipment.

The project presented the challenge of designing a heavy-duty slab capable of supporting significant boat storage loads. The pre-engineered metal building needed to be optimized for durability and ease of construction while maintaining structural integrity for long-term use.

29e6 provided the full structural engineering services, including detailed structural contract documents for the building’s foundation and slab design. The scope included:

  • Slab and foundation plans

  • Footing details and rebar schedules

  • Coordination with the metal building manufacturer to ensure proper column reactions

  • Structural calculations and section details

Key improvements included enhancing the foundation design and ensuring proper coordination during the design phase. The detailed footing and slab plan helped avoid potential issues during construction, saving time and ensuring a smooth build process.

The result was a fully operational, durable boat storage facility with a robust foundation that meets the required load capacity. The project was completed on time and within the planned scope, ensuring both the owner and client were satisfied with the outcome.

Summary

-

The Butler Marine Dry Stack project was a successful collaboration between Butler Marine and 29e6. The structural design ensured safety, durability, and cost-effectiveness by providing a heavy-duty slab and efficient use of pre-engineered components. The project serves as a reliable solution for boat and trailer storage while keeping quality and timelines intact.
